Why a hotel stay can be the easiest way to host Diwali for relatives who travel in: separate rooms, meals on site and a home that stays calm for the festival.
When relatives travel in for Diwali, the house fills quickly. Beds are borrowed, bathrooms queue and the person hosting ends the festival exhausted. A hotel does not replace the family's own celebration. It protects it, by giving guests their own space and the host's home room to breathe.
A Diwali hotel stay lets out-of-town relatives sleep in their own rooms and join the family for meals and puja. ORNATE has 54 rooms across five categories, a restaurant and a rooftop pool on one property, and room blocks can be arranged for travelling families, so everyone stays close without crowding the host's home.
Why stay in a hotel when family is local?
It is a fair question. The answer is that hosting at home during Diwali already involves puja, cooking, guests and visits. Adding six sleepers to that is a lot. A hotel moves the sleeping, and some of the eating, out of the home, so the host can spend the festival with family rather than managing it.
Which room suits which relative?
ORNATE's 54 rooms span five categories from 326 sq ft to approximately 561 sq ft. The details below are as published. See the rooms page for photographs.
| Category | Size | Published detail |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Room | 326 sq ft | The smallest category |
| Balcony Room | 441 sq ft | Extended balcony |
| Family Room | 410 sq ft | Additional single bed and a dual washroom, for a family |
| Junior Suite | 534 sq ft | More spacious and fully equipped |
| Maharaja Suite | approx. 561 sq ft | Bathtub; the flagship suite |
How do you make the stay work?
- Give the hotel a rooming list early, grouped by family.
- Decide which meals are at home and which are on site.
- Allow rest between rituals. Diwali days are long.
- Confirm arrival times so rooms are ready, and ask about early check-in.
- Ask the reservations team about room blocks if several families are travelling together.
