The Room That Chose You: A Guide to Ornate's Suite Categories

The Ornate Team · 31 July 2026 · 6 min read

Maharaja, Family Premium, Premium or Regal Triple - a decision guide to the four room categories across ORNATE Lucknow's 54 rooms, arranged by who is travelling rather than by square footage.

Most room guides are written from the hotel's side of the desk: largest first, smallest last, as though square footage were a ranking. It is not. The right room is decided by who is in it and what the week around it looks like - which is why the 640 sq ft Family Premium is, for a great many guests, a better room than the 780 sq ft Maharaja.

The short answer

ORNATE Lucknow has 54 rooms in four categories: the Maharaja Room (780 sq ft, 2-4 guests), the Family Premium Room (640 sq ft, 4-5 guests, two bedrooms), the Premium Room (520 sq ft, 2-3 guests, separate living area) and the Regal Triple Room (320 sq ft, 2 guests). Choose by who is travelling with you, not by size.

Start with who is in the room

Ask three questions before you look at a single photograph. How many people are sleeping in the room? How many hours a day will anyone actually be in it? And is anyone in the party going to need to get ready in it while somebody else is still asleep? That third question is the one that decides most wedding bookings, and it is the reason a two-bedroom layout beats a larger single room almost every time.

The Maharaja Room at ORNATE Lucknow, the 780 sq ft flagship
The Maharaja Room - the flagship, and the right room for exactly two situations.

The Maharaja Room - 780 sq ft

The flagship, and the room that photographs best, but its real argument is the private dining nook. During a wedding week it becomes the place the immediate family gathers away from the functions - a room with a door, in a building where everything else is happening in public. A walk-in wardrobe matters more than it sounds when three outfit changes a day are involved, and a butler is available on request. Book it for the couple, or for whoever is carrying the event.

The Family Premium Room - 640 sq ft

Two bedrooms, extra bedding and a layout built around the reality that a family does not keep a single schedule. Grandparents sleep; the teenagers do not. Children nap in the afternoon while somebody else is dressing for the evening. It sleeps four to five, and it is the room that most changes how a multi-day celebration feels. Ask for one near the lift if anyone in the party has mobility needs.

The Regal Triple Room at ORNATE Lucknow
The Regal Triple - 320 sq ft, and everything a one-night stay needs.

The Premium Room - 520 sq ft

The most underrated category here. A separate living area sounds like a small thing until you have spent three days in a city on somebody else's schedule and want somewhere to sit that is not the end of a bed. The soaking tub is the other half of the argument, particularly after a full day of functions.

The Regal Triple Room - 320 sq ft

For guests in the city for a function rather than for a stay: a king bed, a city view, a rain shower and smart climate control. If your day runs from a morning haldi to a reception that ends after midnight, this is a room you sleep in, and there is no sense paying for square footage you will be asleep in.

Booking mechanics worth knowing

  • Hold more rooms than you think you need - blocks are far easier to trim than to extend
  • Ask for the release date on unclaimed rooms; it decides where your late confirmations sleep
  • Check-in is 2:00 PM and check-out is 12:00 PM, with early and late timings on request subject to availability
  • Complimentary transfers run to and from the airport, twelve minutes away - book them against arrival times, not booking references
  • Put grandparents and anyone with mobility needs close to the lift and to the function spaces
  • Keep the couple's suite away from the functions rather than beside them
  • Flag dietary requirements and early-morning rituals at the time of booking, not at check-in

The best room in a hotel is rarely the largest one. It is the one that suits the week you are actually having.

Full images, features and availability sit on the rooms and suites page. If you would rather see the property as a whole first, the walk-through of the rooms and banquet spaces covers it end to end, and housing a whole travelling family covers the block-booking side.
