Filmed reviews from families who celebrated here, ratings across eight booking platforms, and the four things guests mention that no brochure ever leads with.
A hotel can write anything it likes about itself. What it cannot write is what a grandmother says to a camera three days after her grandson's wedding. We have been collecting those - unscripted, unedited by us - and the interesting part is not that they are positive. It is that they are positive about the same four things, almost every time.
Across filmed guest reviews and public ratings - 4.6/5 on Google, 4.5/5 on Tripadvisor and 4.3/5 on MakeMyTrip at the time of writing - returning guests at ORNATE Lucknow consistently cite four things: staff who remember them, the food, having every function on one address, and the unscheduled hours between events.
The reviews we did not write
The Stories page carries filmed reviews from guests including Bharti Khatwani, who celebrated her grandson's wedding here; the actor Sanjay Gagnani; Rahul Gupta; Shivani; Gurmeet Singh and Dilip Singh Bagga; and a guest visiting from Pune. We have deliberately not transcribed or paraphrased them here - a quote lifted out of a face is a different thing from the face. Watch two or three and you will hear the pattern faster than we could summarise it.
| Platform | Rating | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| 4.6 / 5 | The broadest sample, including event guests who never stayed the night | |
| Tripadvisor | 4.5 / 5 | Longer written reviews, usually from travellers rather than hosts |
| MakeMyTrip | 4.3 / 5 | Verified stays booked through the platform |
| Agoda, Goibibo, Cleartrip, Yatra, Expedia | Listed | Additional booking channels with their own review sets |
The written record is not curated by us at all: Tripadvisor and MakeMyTrip both publish the middling reviews as prominently as the glowing ones. Read those first. They are more useful to you, and more useful to us.
Why staff recall outranks every facility
Facilities are matched easily. Any competitor can build a larger lawn or a taller ballroom. What cannot be copied quickly is a team that has been here long enough to remember that a particular family takes its tea at six, that the grandfather uses the lift on the left, that the youngest child will not eat anything with coriander in it.
This is why we keep one named point of contact per family rather than routing an event through departments, and why reception is staffed 24 hours rather than to a shift pattern. The reasoning behind that, and the rest of the standards we hold, is written up separately. Guests do not describe it as a service model. They describe it as being recognised.
Nobody comes back for a building. They come back because somebody remembered how they take their tea.
The food is what they tell people afterwards
Lucknow has been arguing about food for a few centuries, and its guests arrive with high expectations and firm opinions. Banquet cooking at scale is where most venues quietly lose that argument. The rule that protects it here is that nothing is served to eight hundred people that the host has not first tasted at a table of eight. The a la carte version of the same kitchen is Amrkh, with Saakiya alongside it.
One address, and the hours it gives back
Families who have hosted a wedding across three venues describe the same experience: a week spent in cars, with half the guests missing half the functions. Keeping the ceremony, the dining, the bar and the 54 rooms on one address does not just simplify logistics - it hands back the informal hours where people actually catch up with one another. The rooftop pool and the spa do more for a wedding than most people expect of either.
If you want the tour behind all of this, the walk-through of the rooms and banquet spaces covers the property in detail, and the gallery covers it in pictures.
